Companion Press Senior Editor Mark Schlenz, Ph.D., consults with publishers and writers on natural history, interpretive, scientific, and academic projects. He applies his years of experience as a university writing teacher to help writers at all levels achieve clarity and grace in their prose and success in their projects. Author of a number of Companion Press' interpretive books, he also wrote a university-level writing textbook, Engaging Inquiry: Research and Writing in the Disciplines (Prentice Hall, 2002) and edited a chapter of his doctoral dissertation on Mary Austin as the introduction to Austin's The Basket Woman (University of Nevada Press, 1999). Mark's trade book credits include editing toxicologist Dr. Rob Hatherill's Eat to Beat Cancer (Renaissance Books, 1998) and The Brain Gate (Regnery, 2003) and the introduction to Yoga Beyond Belief: Insights to Awaken and Deepen Your Practice by Ganga White (North Atlantic Press, 2007).
